Thanksgiving Service and Awards Ceremony

This year's Thanksgiving Service and Awards Ceremony at Christ Church was a joyous celebration and opportunity to pay tribute to the amount of work, endeavour and commitment to Eversfield that the children have shown throughout the year. Thank you to all the parents and members of the Eversfield family community who joined us.

The Middle School Endeavour Cup is awarded to a young man who strives to be successful in everything they do. He has shown resilience and perseverance throughout the year as well as having an encouraging attitude to everything he attempts. He is respected by his peers and teachers alike and are shining examples of endeavour. The cup is awarded to Charlie G-B.

The Donald Smith Award is presented this year to a young lady who has consistently reached a remarkably high academic standard throughout her time at Eversfield. With guidance and encouragement from staff, her innate talents have been nurtured, allowing her opportunity to excel – and excel she has. Our highly deserving recipient is Malini B.

The Lattey Cup is awarded each year to the pupil who has best served the school throughout their time here. This year, it is presented to a young lady who has consistently demonstrated a caring and kind attitude towards others, alongside remarkable academic achievements, particularly impressive given that English is her second language. She is an outstanding role model and ambassador for our school. The winner is Anita W.

This year's recipient of The Carol Burke Science and Engineering Award has worked at a consistently high standard across all three sciences throughout their time at Eversfield. He is a natural investigator, a thinker, a team player and never afraid to challenge ideas, but most importantly, he can apply these skills to solve scientific problems. The award goes to Lincoln B.

Choosing just one recipient for the The Starbuck Cup for Art was challenging, as many pupils have made remarkable contributions and excelled in the subject this year. Since joining art club in Form 4, this pupil has consistently dedicated himself to honing his skills, spending time drawing at home and using art club to create from his imagination and other sources. He always has a clear vision for his work and a keen eye for pattern and design. Besides his excellent drawing skills, he is polite, hardworking, and well-mannered.  The cup deservedly goes to Nico B.

The Beatrice Humphris Cup for Music this year is awarded to a pupil who has worked hard to nurture their natural musical ability since joining Eversfield, and leaves having progressed to a high standard of performance across a wide range of musical styles. Within school an outstanding contribution has been made to concerts, choirs and House Music competitions, but this pupil has also chosen to become involved in a range of musical activities in the wider community. An asset to the Music Department, Eversfield will be sorry to see him leave. The cup this year is awarded to R Singh.

The Drama Cup is presented this year to a pupil who truly excelled in her role in Honk Jr.  Her commitment was evident from the start. She meticulously learned her lines and mastered much of the choreography, a contribution I am particularly grateful for. She accepted direction exceptionally well and was always eager to support her fellow cast members, often rehearsing with others during lunchtimes, ensuring everyone felt confident and prepared. Her efforts and enthusiasm throughout were contagious. She embodied the character of Ida, the mother duck, perfectly, showcasing grace, humour and maturity. This year, the drama cup goes to a truly deserving actress Isla M.

The Headmaster’s Cup for Contribution to Boys’ Team Sports is a cup that is awarded to the sportsman in Form 6 who has played an outstanding role in different team sports and represented the school at all levels, in many sports. This year the cup goes to a young man who was an integral member of the hockey, football, cricket and swimming teams. He also gained team colours in every sport he has played. A very deserving winner is Leo G.

The Headmaster’s Cup for Contribution to Girls’ Team Sports this year is awarded to a young lady whose impact is undeniable both on and off the pitch. The words 'Contribution to Girls' Games' perfectly describe this individual, as demonstrated earlier this year. Picture this: the netball team is struggling against tough opponents, trailing by 8 goals after the first quarter. The team is disheartened, nervous, and exhausted. Then, our player steps onto the court for the second quarter. Instantly, the team's mood shifts. She dominates the court, intercepting passes, scoring goals, and making precise passes to her teammates. Eversfield erases the 8-goal deficit but loses by a single goal in the final minute. Despite the loss, the girls come off the court laughing, energised by her presence. This year's award goes to Claudia V S.

The Information Technology Cup is awarded to an individual who exhibits exceptional talent, not only in the different skills that are taught within lessons, but in his capacity to transfer his knowledge and apply it to augment all areas of his curriculum work. The cup is presented to Dean T-M.

The Madden Cup is awarded to the pupil who exemplifies good citizenship and consistently follows our school code of CARE. This year’s recipient is a young man who embodies these qualities through his compassion, respect for others and the world around him. He sets high aspirations in everything he undertakes and perseveres until he achieves his goals, usually with a smile on her face. In addition, his willingness to include others in all that he does, especially on the sports field, is truly inspirational and something for others to aspire to. The worthy winner of the Madden Cup is Zak D.

The Efficiency Cup this year is awarded to an exceptional all-rounder who embodies the spirit of our school. This young lady consistently gives her best in everything she undertakes, whether in academics, sports, or extracurricular activities. Her dedication and perseverance are matched by her kindness, empathy, and willingness to help others. A role model for her peers, she is always ready to take on new challenges and support those around her with a cheerful and positive attitude. Her contributions have made a significant impact on our school community, and I have no doubt she will continue to shine as she moves on to her senior school. The cup is awarded to Ella S.

The Scholarship Awards for this year are presented to a very laudable 8 children who performed to an exceptionally high level in the 11+ entrance examinations. These 7 children amassed an incredible 23 scholarships between them across many areas of the curriculum. The award holders are Lincoln B, Malini B, Leo G, Henry S, R Singh, Anita W and Shilan X.

Form prizes are awarded each year to pupils in Form 1 to 6 who have shown that they are excellent role models particularly when it comes to our school code of CARE.
